Prior to this, Shozo worked at Morgan Stanley & their affiliated asset management company and participated in both Japanese & Australian asset sourcing for MSREF. Shozo has developed exceptional skills in leadership, strategy & group planning oversight.

Yuichi Ohata is Managing Director of EastGate and joined in July 2012, having previously worked for Silverpeak Real Estate Japan as a Managing Director, where he was responsible for North Asia including Japan, Korea and China. Yuichi has deep real estate fund management and asset management experience and an immense Hotel track record.

Reid Mackay is Managing Director of EastGate based in Singapore and joined in November 2015. He has known and worked with the other principals for over 20 years. Prior to joining EastGate, Reid established the CBRE Tokyo Investment Properties team and lead for over 10 years, completing more than USD 12 Billion in transactions during his career with CBRE Group.

Eddie Kurokawa joined EastGate EGW in 2011 when the company was founded. Specialized in finance and compliance, Eddie is the Managing Director responsible for the administration and accounting department. Eddie previously worked for Matsushita/MID for more than 13 years in US and Australia, as the Director of Accounting Services.

Takafumi Sako joined EastGate to lead and oversee the EGW asset management platform. Prior to Eastgate, Takafumi led the AM team at PAG Japan for their opportunistic funds for over nine years. He has managed more than 350 properties totalling USD 10 billion of value across all asset classes including office, residential, retail, logistics, hotel and data centres.

Junko Asai is a Managing Director of EastGate and joined in EastGate EGW in 2012. As a highly experienced acquisition and investment executive, Junko has completed more than USD7.0 billion in real estate transactions. Together with other members of the EastGate investment team she brings many years of knowledge in transaction structuring and closing. Before joining EastGate, Junko was also working for RISA Partners Inc where she led the fund management department.

Kei Ota has been Executive Director of Platform Strategy & Operations of EGW Asset Management since April 2026. After joining in July 2017 as an associate director, he was responsible for HR, general affairs, and IT operations. Upon assuming the role of director in April 2018, spearheaded the implementation of Google workspaces, the development of a performance evaluation system, and strategic recruitment efforts to support business expansion.

Atsushi joined EastGate in 2022 to lead its fund management division. He is instrumental in strategy, execution and deal sourcing for EastGate’s funds, securing over $750 million in acquisitions. Prior to EastGate, he was in Xymax Group’s real estate asset management division, where he headed business development and corporate strategy planning.

Previously headed the accounting and tax division as a Senior Manager at an accounting firm specialized in Special Purpose Companies (SPCs), developing advanced expertise across a wide range of asset types. Since joining the EGW in 2015, consistently managed financial operations and SPC administration for real estate private funds before assuming the role of Head of the Business Promotion Division. Supports the foundation of fund operations from various perspectives through accurate, high-value-added execution.
